Adults can be defined as animals or human beings that have reached their full growth and development. For humans adults have implications that are based on social and legal concepts. Contrary to the concept of a non-adult or "minor" an legal adult has reached the age of majority. They are regarded as an independent, self-sufficient person and responsible. Sometimes referred to as "majors" and "majors", they may also be said to be at the age of majority.
